Giving Back to the Community This Holiday Season

At Shore to Shore Cleaning, community and giving back have always been at the heart of who we are. From the very beginning, building a supportive network and lifting up others has been one of the key pillars of our growth. It's more than just a business to us—it's about creating positive ripples in the lives of those around us.
When I first opened Shore to Shore Cleaning in October 2015, I was a single mom with two young girls, filled with both excitement and fear. Each week, I worried about clients canceling and whether I would make enough to provide for my family. Yet, I knew I was already in a better place than some, with a budding business and a supportive community behind me. I remembered my own struggles only two years before, making $400 a week at Dunkin’ Donuts, and wondering how I would afford Christmas gifts for my kids. I knew firsthand what it felt like to worry, and I wanted to help other mothers who were in similar positions.
That holiday season, I took my desire to give back and made a call to a local recovery home for women in Coram, where many of the residents were mothers trying to get back on their feet. With the help of the community, I was able to raise over $1,500 in cash, collect $600 in Target gift cards, and secure Columbia winter jackets for each of the children on my list. My car was filled to the brim with gifts, bringing smiles to those kids and a little extra joy to their holiday season.
Since then, we’ve continued our tradition of giving back by partnering with Angels of Long Island each Christmas. Each year, we collect toys for their holiday toy drive and set up a “Santa Helper” Gift Wrapping Station, with donated wrapping paper from clients and local businesses.
This year, we invite you to join us in our mission of giving back. If you're a current client, feel free to leave gifts or wrapping paper out during your cleaning appointments, and we’ll make sure they get to Debbie and her incredible team at Angels of Long Island. And if you're not a client but would like to help, just give our office a call, and someone from our team will arrange to pick up your donation.
Giving back to the community isn’t something we reserve only for the holiday season.
